Baker Bros American Deli
This is part of a chain that recently opened a store at 7865 W Sahara. I received a 2 for 1 coupon in the mail, so I decided to give it a try. Big mistake.
Date of visit: 4/21/06 Time: 2:55PM
Overall rating: D
The deal was for two box lunch combo's for $8.79 + tax. So box one was the North Beach (roasted chicken breast with basil pesto, provolone cheese and topped with red onion, tomato, lettuce, and pesto mayo on a toasted Farm Bread roll), which came with a side of cole slaw, a large cookie, and a large fountain drink. Box two was the K.C. Old Fashioned (Roast Beef topped with melted provolone and horseradish sauce with lettuce, tomato, and red onion on a toasted Farm Bread roll), which came with a side of potato salad, a large cookie, and a fountain drink.
Got home and opened the first box. The roll was quite large, but I was surprised to find the sandwich fillings were made up of a tiny thin pounded chicken breast, a single leaf of tired lettuce, three rings of an onion slice, and just one small slice of tomato. Forged ahead and it was okay, but it really was just mostly bread. Then I tried the other sandwich. Same thing; large roll, but inside just four or five thin slices of chewy roast beef along with the same minimal fixings.
The cole slaw was bland; the potato salad was okay; the cookies were good. But then came the aftermath a few hours later, when I literally was struck with an urgent need to use the bathroom. I don't know which of the items caused the suffering, but something sure did.

Hey, we agreed on Capriotti's, I think I'll take your word for it.

Re: Baker Bros American Deli
Wow. -- I never even thought to go in there -- I figured it was just a coffee shop for that office park. Will definitely try it out now. Thanks!

That's right, shop smart, shop S-Mart!

Buffalo and Westcliff (just south of the Summerlin Parkway)
Oscar "dines" there almost every Sunday Morning with his wife - he has a table in the back - meets and greets the whole resturant - "Oscar style"

The deli on Sahara & Valley View's called Bagel King. Never been there, either.

It is south of the parkway not north. North is Trader Joes and Kmart.
